Kentucky Grocers Education Foundation Now Accepting Scholarship Applications For 2025-26 School Year

Applications are now being accepted online for Kentucky Grocers Education Foundation Scholarships for the 2025-26 academic year. Application deadline is April 15, 2025. All scholarships are subject to application eligibility guidelines.

The Kentucky Grocers Education Foundation will offer four (4) individual scholarships at $1,250 each. Two (2) for high school seniors and two (2) for college undergrads.

Houchens Industries will offer seven (7) individual scholarships at $1,250 each, three (3) going to high school seniors and four (4) to college undergrads, “piggybacked” through the Kentucky Grocers Education Foundation. 

Food City will offer two (2) at $1,000 scholarships each, one (1) to a high school senior and one (1) to a college undergrad, “piggybacked” through the Kentucky Grocers Education Foundation. 

Cox Food Group will offer two (2) at $1,000 scholarships each, one (1) to a high school senior and one (1) to a college undergrad, “piggybacked” through the Kentucky Grocers Education Foundation. 

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY FOR SCHOLARSHIPS?

High school seniors or college freshmen, sophomores, and juniors enrolled full-time in an accredited college, university, technical, or trade school in the United States for the 2025-26 academic year may be eligible to apply for KGEF scholarships and select “piggyback” scholarships provided by participating companies, and who also are:

1. Employees of KGCSA member companies or a specific “piggyback” company who are enrolled full-time in a college, university, technical, or trade school in the United States. The employees must have six (6) months of employment service with the company at the time of application deadline and must be current employees to receive the scholarship; or

2. Children or grandchildren of full-time employees of KGCSA member companies or a specific “piggyback” company. The employees must have six (6) months of employment service with the company at the time of application deadline and must be current employees to receive the scholarship.
